Zlatoyar is a multi-genre bassist from Ukraine, currently based in Sweden. He is the bassist and composer for Waidelotte, a session musician for live and studio projects, a solo performer, and an educator. Zlatoyar is proud to be a Bartolini, MTD, Overload, and Neural DSP artist.
His musical journey began with a love for classical rock and blues, which inspired him to pursue formal training. He studied at his hometown music school and later at Glier Music University in Kyiv. Alongside formal education, Zlatoyar honed his progressive bass techniques through online lessons and video schools, drawing inspiration from masters such as John Myung, Victor Wooten, John Patitucci, and others.
Zlatoyar’s versatility spans pop, fusion/progressive, hip-hop, rock, metal, and beyond. His main band is Waidelotte (blackened death metal), and he also plays his original solo compositions with an impressionistic approach that highlights the expressive potential of the 6-string bass.
He has worked with a wide range of artists including Soen, Three Eyes of the Void, Aida Nikolaychuk, Joncofy, MegaMass, Julia Voice, TANA, Endocranial, BLAME, and many more. In addition to performing, Zlatoyar teaches, gives workshops, and participates in recording sessions worldwide, with students and clients from all over the world. He also shares his insights and gear reviews on his YouTube channel and Patreon page, making his knowledge accessible to the global bass community.
